*READ* BOOK READING INVENTORY 2025
I read 64 books this year (21 of which were released in the US in 2025). I did listen to 1 of those 64—Terry Real’s Fierce Intimacy—but that’s because it’s only available as an audio book. I don’t like play the audio book game due to my anal retentive lifelong project in which I pull quotes from every book I read, which doesn’t work so well aurally. I still don’t know if/what I plan to do with my commonplace book, which right now consists of long Google documents from A-Z. At worst, I plan to leave it behind for my children when I kick this realm’s bucket, but beyond that, it’s become such an ingrained personal routine that I can’t imagine a life in which I consume words any other way. There were lots of great reads this year, and while I would love to include some form of commentary—maybe I’ll get to that in a subsequent post—in the interest of actually posting this list, I’m going to keep it simple for now: book title, author, year of release, date finished, *if it’s a re-read.
